June 2010 – 1 Day for Rehab
Rehab’s first national fundraising day, 1 Day took place Saturday, 20th June but as we wouldn’t be in the office that day (we hoped!) we celebrated on Friday evening on the roof terrace.
As Communications practitioners we thought what better way to enjoy the evening than through the game of ‘Articulate’ coupled with some Friday refreshments and a chance to take in that rare but glorious Irish sunshine. Like communities all over the country we got together to have some fun and raise funds for Rehab. It turns out ‘Articulate’ is not a game for the faint hearted – you need a strict time keeper, rule reader and independent adjudicator…or maybe that’s just in this office. It’s also a good way of learning who isn’t so great at geography or Russian history….no names will be mentioned!
Whilst we weren’t as adventurous as some other individuals or groups around the country who held scubathons, parachute jumps or treasure hunts, a good time was had and money raised for a very important organisation.
1 Day was Rehab’s first national fundraising day and all the funds raised locally will go to the respective local Rehab Care centres.
Rehab is a leading non-government organisation which works toward a world where every person has the opportunity to achieve their potential. Rehab works with adults and young people with sensory, physical and mental health difficulties, people with autism and people with acquired brain injury. Well done to everyone who took part in 1 Day, you’ve helped to make a big difference to people’s lives.
