May 2010 – Tea Day - A Day to Remember
Tea and coffee are popular in the Insight Consultants offices but yesterday we had the chance to have a few cups and indulge in some homemade cakes, biscuits and muffins in the name of a good cause – Tea Day, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland’s annual fundraiser.
Starbucks of Sandyford kindly donated lots of delicious coffee and tea, which went down a treat with our guests, and we are very grateful for their generosity.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is a client of ours and Tea Day was a great opportunity for neighbours and other clients to learn more about it’s work, and to learn of the challenges it faces. With a growing ageing population and recent cuts in state funding, Tea Day is becoming more important than ever.
The Society provides care, services and support for those with dementia living in Ireland and their carers, through respite services, home care, day care centres, support groups, a helpline and more. Dementia affects approximately 44,000 individuals directly, 50,000 carers and hundreds of thousands of family members throughout Ireland. For every €25 raised The Society is able to provide another hour of care
